The German Wine Institute started a VR project in 2017 as part of a marketing project, in which I was involved in the creation of the Congaz company.
With a film, the viewer should experience the whole production process of a wine in virtual reality. It starts in the middle of the vineyards during the harvest, the pressing, up to the storage and maturation.
The material was shot in a winery, for which a camera rig consisting of 4 cameras was used. The technical challenge was to combine the individual shots into a clean panorama without visible transitions between the edges of the image.
The central component of image processing was image stabilization. A large part of the recorded material contained strong camera shake and movements that should not be visible in the finished product.
Task: Stitching, compositing.
