Steinhuder Meer is a lake in Lower Saxony, Germany. One evening me and my family took a trip and together we watched the beautiful sunset over the pristine water.
I had my old Nikon D90, that I later gave my younger sister. Fortunately, we had a really good lightsituation, so it was a good opportunity to TAKE some pictures. I taught her how to handle the camera. We did test shots using different apertures, iso-values, whitebalance etc.
Back home, I took a closer look at the result. We took many pictures from different angles. But most of them looked similar. Sometimes it’s hard to decide which picture should be deleted and which one should be saved, so I had the idea to make a fusion of all similar pictures to one big panorama image.
But now to the problematic part: Because of our little teaching lesson, with all the different tests, the images had a huge color gap. The real challenge was to fix the color gap manually, without recognizing the different images in the end.
Firstly, I aligned the images to get an idea about the final result.
