My biggest problem was building a surface without bulges. I was too focused on the reference photos and got increasingly disappointed of the result I created because it was not matching the original.
One morning I realized that the project I was working on is going into the wrong direction. I pressed the Delete button. It was time to try something new.
Why should I try to build a car that already exists? I had the ability to build everything what I could possilby imagine. So many people had already build this car. Well, I opened my 3D programme and just started with a basic car mesh, without any references.

After a while, I get something like this:
With photoshop, I draw lines over the image, to mark the areas I like and bring up my concept.
Because of this wave form, I named the project: pacificstorm.
With B-Splines, I traced the lines in 3D Max. It is easy building up a form when you have a template of lines.
But in the end, I wasn’t happy with the front. It really looked like a duck face. However, I wanted something dangerous that satisfies the project name. But the back part fulfilled my expectation. I just had to make a new plan for the front.
An early concept with a stormy background.
Changing the front
Remember back to my old goal when I tried to build up the Audi R8, I decided to build my front in classical Audi style. Every brand has typical patterns, which you can see in every series. I like the angry view of the Audi cars, especially of the R8. I copied certain details and implemented them to my model.
After adapting the front from the R8, inclusive the logo.
Do you know the renualt dezir? It’s a concept car, released 2010. What I really like about this car is the futuristic interior. There isn’t a standart seat or typical amature. Every thing is really reduced and harmonized with curved lines.
The interior of the Renault Dezir.
I believe that this curvy amature will also fit in my car, so I choose the renault dezir as my main reference for the interior. But there is also a thing I absolutly can’t agree with it. It’s the plastic material that seams a little bit too cheap. A more natural look may increase the valence. A wood leather combination with modern curves in combination with a high-tech futuristic display in the amature and steering wheel, this could be an interesting combination.
The interior at an early state.
My idea of the futuristic steering wheel.
The back seats offer a huge seat area.
In the End, there is just one question left. How should the door open? I only have one door for the whole interior, that’s why the door is so big. When I built a normal door, a lot of space was needed to open it. A wing door also didn’t work, because there is no framework to bring on the hinged. Okay, let’s be creative and break some physical rules. I decided to build a complex mechanism to get a wing door without a hinged.
The mechanic at an early state in detail. I don’t know if it really works.
